How It Works

Usage and Safety
Side Effects

Indications
Olanzapine is indicated for:
Schizophrenia
Bipolar I disorder (manic or mixed episodes)

Known hypersensitivity to Olanzapine or any component of the formulation

Precautions

Warnings
Warning 1:
Increased risk of metabolic changes including weight gain, hyperglycemia, and dyslipidemia.
Warning 2:
May cause drowsiness; patients should avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until response is known.
Warning 3:
Elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis treated with antipsychotics have an increased risk of mortality.
