Description

DYZONE Tablets contain Hydroxycobalamin, a form of Vitamin B12 essential for healthy nerve function, red blood cell formation, DNA synthesis, and normal cellular metabolism. Hydroxycobalamin is used for the prevention and treatment of Vitamin B12 deficiency and associated neurological and hematological disorders.

How It Works

Hydroxycobalamin is a form of Vitamin B12 that supports essential metabolic processes, including red blood cell production, DNA synthesis, and maintenance of the myelin sheath surrounding nerves. It helps restore and maintain adequate Vitamin B12 levels in the body and supports normal neurological function.

Usage and Safety

Side Effects
Common: Mild nausea, headache, diarrhea, dizziness.
Less Common: Skin rash, itching, or hypersensitivity/allergic reactions.

Drug Interactions
Hydroxycobalamin may interact with certain medicines, including metformin, proton pump inhibitors, H2-receptor antagonists, chloramphenicol, anticonvulsants, and some antibiotics.

Indications

Hydroxycobalamin is indicated for:

  • Vitamin B12 deficiency

  • Megaloblastic anemia due to Vitamin B12 deficiency

Contraindications (When Not to Use)

  • Known hypersensitivity to Hydroxycobalamin or any component of the formulation

  • Leber's disease (hereditary optic neuropathy)

Precautions

Use with caution in patients with renal impairment or a history of hypersensitivity to Vitamin B12 preparations. Long-term therapy should be monitored according to the patient's clinical condition and Vitamin B12 status.

Warnings

Warning 1:
Untreated Vitamin B12 deficiency may lead to irreversible neurological damage. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment are important.

Warning 2:
Hydroxycobalamin should be used under medical supervision when prescribed for the treatment of confirmed Vitamin B12 deficiency.

Warning 3:
Folic acid supplementation alone may improve anemia while allowing neurological complications of Vitamin B12 deficiency to progress. Proper diagnosis is therefore important before treatment.
