Description

DepriniI Tablets contain Sertraline USP, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). Sertraline works primarily by increasing the availability of serotonin in the brain, a neurotransmitter involved in mood, emotions, and psychological well-being.

How It Works

Drug Interactions

Sertraline may interact with other medicines, including MAO inhibitors, other serotonergic medicines, anticoagulants, antiplatelet medicines, NSAIDs, and certain medicines metabolized through CYP2D6. Indications

DepriniI (Sertraline) may be indicated for the treatment of:

• Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)

• Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

• Panic Disorder (PD)

• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

• Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD)

Contraindications

DepriniI should not be used in patients with:

• Known hypersensitivity to sertraline or any component of the formulation

• Concomitant use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)

• Use of an MAOI within the preceding 14 days

• Concomitant use of pimozide (DailyMed)

Precautions

Use with caution and under medical supervision in patients with:

• A history of seizures

• Bipolar disorder or a history of mania/hypomania

• Risk factors for QT prolongation

• Untreated narrow-angle glaucoma

• Conditions associated with increased bleeding risk

Warnings

Antidepressants, including sertraline, carry a warning regarding the increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in children, adolescents, and young adults, particularly during the initial stages of treatment or when the dose is changed. Close monitoring is recommended. (DailyMed)

Serotonin syndrome is a potentially serious reaction that can occur with serotonergic medicines. Seek immediate medical attention if symptoms suggestive of serotonin syndrome occur.

Pregnancy and Lactation
